Latar belakang: Makanan pendamping ASI adalah makanan atau minuman yang diberikan pada usia 6-24 bulan untuk mencukupi kebutuhan gizi bayi. Rendahnya pemberian makanan tambahan yang tepat sesuai umur bayi menjadi salah satu pemicu rendahnya status gizi bayi dan balita. Kekurangan gizi merupakan faktor utama yang menyebabkan kematian pada bayi dan balita.
Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui hubungan kebiasaan (jenis, frekuensi, porsi, tekstur, ketepatan waktu) pemberian MP-ASI (Bubur Saring) terhadap status gizi bayi usia 6-12 bulan di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Narmada Kabupaten Lombok Barat.
Metode: Jenis penelitian ini bersifat analitik korelasi yang menggambarkan hubungan kebiasaan pemberian MP ASI dengan status gizi bayi. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross sectional. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 51 responden.
Hasil: Profil status gizi subjek penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 49 bayi (96,1 %) memiliki gizi baik menurut BB/U, 47 bayi (92,2 %) memiliki gizi normal menurut PB/U, dan 49 bayi (96,1 %) memiliki gizi gizi normal menurut BB/PB. Hasil uji spearman pada variabel frekuensi, dan porsi pemberian MP-ASI diperoleh nilai signifikasi >0,05, dan hasil uji chi-square pada variabel ketepatan waktu, jenis dan tekstur pemberian MP-ASI diperoleh nilai p ≥0,05, sehingga tidak didapatkan adanya hubungan antara kebiasaan (jenis, frekuensi, porsi, tekstur, ketepatan waktu) pemberian MP-ASI terhadap status gizi pada bayi usia 6-12 bulan di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Narmada Kabupaten Lombok Barat.
Kesimpulan: Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan signifikan antara kebiasaan pemberian MP-ASI (Bubur Saring) terhadap status gizi bayi usia 6-12 bulan di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Narmada Kabupaten Lombok Barat.

The Relationship of Feeding Breastmilk’s Complementary Food (Strain Porridge) to the Nutritional Status Among Infants Aged 6-12 Months in The Region Area of Puskesmas Narmada, West Lombok

Background: Breastmilk’s complementary food is food or drink that is given at the age of 6-24 months to fulfill the nutritional needs in infants. In appropriate complementary food feeding of the baby is a trigger of poor nutritional status among infants and toddlers. Malnutrition is a major factor that cause death in infants and toddlers.
Objective: To determine the relationship between feeding breastmilk’s complementary food (strain porridge) practice (type, frequency, portions, texture, timing) and nutritional status of infants aged 6-12 months in the regional area of Puskesmas Narmada, West Lombok.
Methods: This study was an analytic study describing the relationship between feeding breastmilk’s complementary food practice and the nutritional status of infants. This study used cross sectional design. The number of samples in this study were 51 respondents aged 6-12 month.
Results: The nutritional status profile of the subjects showed that 49 infants (96.1%) are well-nourished according to weight/age measurement. According to height/age measurement, 47 infants (92.2%) had normal nutritional status. According to weight/height measurement, 49 infants (96.1%) had normal nutritional status. The result of spearman test between nutritional status with frequencies and portion size of feeding breastmilk complementary foods was not significant (p > 0.05). Similarly, the chi-square test’s results showed no significant correlation between nutritional status with feeding practice (type, frequency, portion size, texture, timing) (p ≥ 0.05) of breast milk complementary food among infants aged 6-12 months in Puskesmas Narmada West Lombok regency.
Conclusion: This research showed that there was no significant relationship between the feeding practice of breast milk complementary foods (strain porridge) and the nutritional status among infants aged 6-12 months old in the regional area of Puskesmas Narmada, West Lombok.
