HUBUNGAN TINGKAT KONSUMSI IKAN DAN KADAR
YODIUM URINE SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR DI SDN
SAMAPUIN KABUPATEN SUMBAWA

Latar Belakang: Yodium merupakan zat gizi mikro esensial yang berperan dalam
pembentukan hormon tiroid. Defisiensi yodium dapat menyebabkan berbagai
gangguan, termasuk Gangguan Akibat Kekurangan Yodium (GAKY) yang
berdampak pada pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak. Salah satu sumber yodium
alami yang penting adalah ikan, khususnya ikan laut. Namun, tingkat konsumsi ikan
belum tentu secara langsung mencerminkan status yodium tubuh. Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara tingkat konsumsi ikan dan kadar
yodium urine pada siswa SDN Samapuin Kabupaten Sumbawa.
Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional dengan desain crosssectional. Subjek penelitian adalah 70 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik
consecutive sampling. Data tingkat konsumsi ikan dikumpulkan melalui Food
Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ), sedangkan kadar yodium urine diperiksa
menggunakan metode spektrofotometri. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi
Spearman.
Hasil: Sebagian besar responden memiliki frekuensi konsumsi ikan yang tinggi dan
kadar yodium urine dalam kategori cukup hingga berlebih. Namun, hasil uji statistik
menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat konsumsi ikan
dan kadar yodium urine (r = 0,087; p = 0,472).
Simpulan: Tidak ditemukan hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat konsumsi
ikan dan kadar yodium urine pada siswa SDN Samapuin.

URINARY IODINE CONCENTRATION AMONG ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL STUDENTS AT SDN SAMAPUIN, SUMBAWA REGENCY

Background: Iodine is an essential micronutrient involved in the production of
thyroid hormones. Iodine deficiency can lead to various health issues, including
Iodine Deficiency Disorders (IDD), which impact the growth and development of
children. One of the main natural sources of iodine is fish. However, fish
consumption levels may not directly reflect the body?s iodine status. This study
aims to determine the relationship between the level of fish consumption and
urinary iodine concentration among elementary school students at SDN Samapuin,
Sumbawa Regency.
Methods: This was an observational study with a cross-sectional design. The
subjects consisted of 70 students selected using a consecutive sampling technique.
Fish consumption data were collected using a Food Frequency Questionnaire
(FFQ), while urinary iodine levels were measured using spectrophotometry. Data
were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test.
Results: Most respondents had a high frequency of fish consumption and urinary
iodine levels within the adequate to excessive range. However, statistical analysis
showed no significant relationship between fish consumption level and urinary
iodine concentration (r = 0.087; p = 0.472).
Conclusion: There was no significant relationship between the level of fish
consumption and urinary iodine concentration among students at SDN Samapuin.
