PERBEDAAN JUMLAH KOLONI KUMAN PADA WAJAH AKNE VULGARIS RINGAN-SEDANG SEBELUM DAN SESUDAH PENGGUNAAN TOPICARE®

Latar belakang: Salah satu masalah kulit yang sering dijumpai yaitu akne vulgaris. Insidensi akne vulgaris lebih banyak pada remaja laki-laki dibandingkan perempuan. Variasi awitan akne vulgaris berdasar insidensi terbanyak pada usia 14-19 tahun. Salah satu standar terapi untuk akne vulgaris ringan dan sedang adalah mencuci wajah secara rutin menggunakan sabun yang lembut. Penggunaan sabun yang lembut bertujuan mengurangi resiko iritasi. Topicare® merupakan salah satu jenis sabun yang lembut.
Tujuan: Mengetahui perbedaan jumlah koloni kuman wajah sebelum dan sesudah mencuci wajah dengan Topicare® dan perbedaan antara jumlah koloni sesudah penggunaan plasebo dan Topicare®.
Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan desain penelitian acak buta ganda. Sampel penelitian yaitu angka koloni kuman wajah setelah melakukan swab pada dahi siswa laki-laki usia 15-19 tahun yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi (n=59). Analisis statistik yang digunakan yaitu uji T berpasangan, untuk mengetahui perbedaan dalam satu kelompok, dan uji T tidak berpasangan, untuk mengetahui perbedaan antar kelompok.
Hasil: Rerata koloni kuman sebelum penggunaan plasebo adalah 228,17 dan sesudah penggunaan plasebo adalah 213,33.Rerata koloni kuman sebelum penggunaan topicare adalah 364,52 dan sesudah penggunaan topicare 173,69. Terdapat penurunan sebesar 52,35% pada kelompok perlakuan sesudah penggunaan Topicare®. Terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada kelompok koloni kuman sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan Topicare® (p = 0,000; uji T berpasangan) dan terdapat perbedaan signifikan setelah penggunaan plasebo dan Topicare® (p = 0,001; uji T tidak berpasangan; CI = 95%).
Simpulan: Terdapat perbedaan signifikan jumlah koloni kuman pada wajah akne vulgaris ringan-sedang sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan Topicare®.

ABSTRACT

The Difference of Total Colony Count on The Mild to Moderate-Acne Vulgaris-Face Before and After Using Topicare®

Background: The most common skin problem which usually happened is acne vulgaris. The incidence of the acne vulgaris more frequently happened on male rather than female. The variation onset of the acne vulgaris happened more in the age between 14-19 years old. One of the standart treatment for mild and moderate acne vulgaris was a routine face wash using a soft soap. Topicare® was one kind of the soft soap, that helped to decrease the risk of irritation.
Objective: To know the difference of the amount of the colony count before and after face wash with Topicare® and the difference amount of the colony count between after using placebo and Topicare®.
Methods: This experimental research used a randomized clinical trial. The research sample was the colony count after a swab on the forehead of the male student at the age of 15-19 years old that fulfill the inclution criteria (n=59). The statistical analysis of this study used the paired T-test, to know the difference in one group, and non-paired T-test, to know the difference between the groups.
Results: The mean of the colony count before using placebo was 228,17 and after using placebo was 213,33. The mean of the colony count before using Topicare® was 364.52 and after using Topicare® was 173.69. There was a decrease about 52.35% on the treatment group after using Topicare®. There was a significant difference between the colony count before and after using the Topicare® (p=0.000; paired T-test), and there was a significant difference after using placebo and Topicare® (p=0.001; non-paired T-test; CI=95%).
Conclusion: There is a significant difference amount of colony count on a face with a mild-moderate acne vulgaris before and after using Topicare®.
