LINGKUNGAN BELAJAR DENGAN PARTISIPASI DAN PERFORMA
AKADEMIK DI FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS MATARAM

Latar belakang: Persepsi mahasiswa terhadap lingkungan belajar merupakan suatu
bagian yang penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas hidup mahasiswa dan dapat
menunjukkan efektivitas dari pendidikan yang berlangsung sehingga mampu
dijadikan sebagai bahan evaluasi untuk perbaikan terhadap sistem pendidikan yang
berlangsung. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa
terhadap lingkungan belajar dan hubungannya dengan partisipasi mahasiswa dan
performa akademik di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Mataram.

Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian cross-sectional. Persepsi mahasiswa
mengenai lingkungan belajar dinilai dengan menggunakan kuesioner The Dundee
Ready Education Environment Measure (DREEM). Nilai partisipasi mahsiswa
dalam tutorial PBL dan hasil ujian blok siswa secara simultan mewakili partisipasi
siswa dan performa akademik. Responden penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah
seluruh mahasiswa tahap akademik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Mataram yang
terdiri atas mahasiswa semester satu, tiga, lima dan tujuh. Analisis data dilakukan
dengan uji statistik korelatif non parametrik Spearman.

Hasil: Sebanyak 286 mahasiswa (94,39%) berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini.
Rerata skor total DREEM yaitu 135,94. Ditemukan empat pernyataan yang dalam
analisis kuesioner DREEM yang dapat menunjukkan permasalahan dalam
lingkungan belajar di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Mataram. Nilai korelasi
menunjukan terdapat hubungan positif namun lemah antara persepsi mahasiswa
terhadap lingkungan belajar dengan partisipasi mahasiswa (r = 0,225) dan performa
akademik (r = 0,174).

Kesimpulan: Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran memiliki persepsi yang cukup
memuaskan terhadap lingkungan belajar. Terdapat hubungan positif namun lemah
antara persepsi mahasiswa mengenai lingkungan belajar dengan partisipasi
mahasiswa dan performa akademik.

PERFORMANCE AT FACULTY OF MEDICINE UNIVERSITAS
MATARAM

Background: Students' perception of learning environment play an important roles
to improve students’ quality of life and reflect the effectiveness of the ongoing
education. Hence it can serve as an evaluation to improve the education system.
The purpose of this study was to investigate students’ perception of learning
environment and the relationship between students’ perception of learning
environment within student participation and academic performance at Faculty of
Medicine Universitas Mataram.

Methods: This was a cross-sectional study. Students’ perceptions of learning
environment were assessed using The Dundee Ready Education Environment
Measure (DREEM) questionnaire. Score of students’ participation in PBL tutorials
and students’ block examination result consecutively represent students’
participation and academic performance. Respondents in this study were all
undergraduate students of the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Mataram in the first,
third, fifth and seventh semester. Data analysis was performed using nonparametric correlative statistical test of Spearman.

Results: A total of 286 students (94.39%) were participated in the study. The
average of DREEM score is 135,94. Four statements were identified in the DREEM
questionnaire analysis could indicate problems in the learning environment at
Faculty of Medicine Universitas Mataram. This study found a positive but weak
correlation between the perceptions of learning environment and students’
participation (r = 0.225) as long as academic performance (r = 0.174).

Conclusions: Faculty of Medicine Universitas Mataram students’ have a
satisfactory perception of the learning environment. There is a positive but weak
relationship between students' perception of the learning environment and student
participation as long as academic performance.
