HUBUNGAN KOMUNIKASI DOKTER-PASIEN DENGAN TINGKAT PEMAHAMAN MEDIS PASIEN POLIKLINIK MATA RUMAH SAKIT PROF. MULYANTO UNIVERSITAS MATARAM, NUSA TENGGARA BARAT

Latar belakang : Komunikasi kesehatan ditujukan untuk pembangunan kesehatan masyarakat. Keterampilan interpersonal dalam komunikasi dokter-pasien yang baik memiliki potensi untuk membantu mengatur emosi dan merupakan media untuk pemahaman informasi medis. Dalam profesi kedokteran, komunikasi dokter pasien masih sering diabaikan oleh dokter maupun dokter gigi. Rumah Sakit Prof. Mulyanto Universitas Mataram sebagai rumah sakit yang dikembangkan menjadi rumah sakit pendidikan perlu adanya studi untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara komunikasi dokter pasien dengan tingkat pemahaman pasien poliklinik Mata Rumah Sakit Prof. Mulyanto Universitas Mataram apakah sudah baik dan sesuai dengan yang diharapkan
Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan metode pengambilan data secara cross-sectional menggunakan kuesioner. Responden yang telah memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi dipilih berdasarkan teknik consecutive sampling. Responden menjawab 18 pertanyaan dalam kuesioner. Analisis statistik menggunakan analisa deskriptif, analisis bivariat menggunakan metode korelasi Spearman
Hasil : Sebanyak 84 responden yang berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Pada variabel komunikasi dokter, didapatkan responden menilai komunikasi dokter dengan sangat baik yaitu sebanyak 68 orang (80,95%). Pada variabel tingkat pemahaman pasien, didapatkan responden yang memiliki tingkat pemahaman sangat baik yaitu sebanyak 63 orang (75%). Nilai korelasi menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif hubungan yang positif dan kuat antara komunikasi dokter pasien dengan tingkat pemahaman pasien (r = 0,630).
Kesimpulan : Terdapat hubungan yang positif dan kuat antara komunikasi dokter pasien dengan tingkat pemahaman pasien poliklinik Mata Rumah Sakit Prof. Mulyanto Universitas Mataram, Nusa Tenggara Barat

CORRELATION OF DOCTORS-PATIENTS COMMUNICATION AND PATIENT’S MEDICAL LITERACY AT THE EYE CLINIC OF RUMAH SAKIT PROF. MULYANTO UNIVERSITAS MATARAM, NUSA TENGGARA BARAT

Background : Medical communication is aimed to to promote health state. A good interpersonal skill in doctor patient communication has a potency to regulate emotions. It is also as the media in understanding medical informations. In terms of medical profession, the communication between doctor and patients is often neglected by the doctors or even dentists in Rumah Sakit Prof. Mulyanto Universitas Mataram is a hospital which is developed as educational hospital which needs to be studied. There must be a study to investigate whether there is a correlation between doctor-patient communication and the level of medical literacy in eye clinic patients, Rumah Sakit Prof. Mulyanto Universitas Mataram in order to know if it is good and as what have expected.
Methods : This study used quantitative method with cross-sectional data using questionnaire. The respondents who had fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected based on the consecutive sampling technique. The respondents answered 18 questions in the questionnaire. The descriptive analysis was used for statistical analysis and spearman correlation method was used for bivariate analysis.
Results : There are 84 respondents who involved in this study. For doctor communication variable, there are 68 respondents (80,95 %) who assessed that doctor communication is very good. Meanwhile, for the level of patients’ understanding, it is about 63 respondents (75 %) who have very good understanding toward medical informations. The correlation value showed positive and strong correlation between doctor-patients communication and the level of patients’ literacy (r = 0,630).
Conclusions : There is a positive and strong correlation between doctor-patients communication and the level of patients’ medical literacy on eye department at Rumah Sakit Prof. Mulyanto Universitas Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara.
